About us
Who We Are
My Journey
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been the person that others come to when they have a problem and just need someone to listen.
I genuinely enjoy educating clients on mental health and wellness and sharing strategies and skills I’ve learned along my own journey. Few things bring me more satisfaction in my work as a therapist than seeing those “Aha moments” when everything suddenly just “clicks” and clients starts noticing positive changes in their lives.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me roaming the country in our RV or exploring other cities across the world, enjoying summer back home in Minnesota with friends and family, or curled up on the couch with a blanket and a good book.
You’re not broken, you’re just human
We all experience difficulty throughout our lives; and when life feels hard, it can be so easy to get caught up in (critical) thoughts like, “It’ll never get better,” or to feel anxious, overwhelmed, and discouraged. Before too long, you realize you’re far from the life you’d imagined or the person you’d hoped to be.
My Approach
I generally take an integrative approach to treatment, utilizing concepts and skills from a number of evidence-based interventions, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
My approach is structured yet flexible, collaborative, and non-judgmental. We’ll work together to identify the combination of interventions and skills that best suits your needs and mental health goals, with the understanding that you know yourself best.
No matter the specific theoretical orientation or approach we take, my overarching goal is to be present with you in this difficult time- creating space for you to feel heard and understood, and encouraging you as you build confidence in your ability to manage whatever comes your way.
